Project, Kloveniersburgwal 2-62

G-Kracht to renovate 250 meters of waterfront along the Kloveniersburgwal, a site of great historical significance. This project combines safety, heritage preservation, and tree conservation.

Client

Municipality of Amsterdam

Phase In preparation
Location

Amsterdam

Size

250 meters

Challenge

Safety measures have been installed along the entire length of these two sections because the embankment was previously unstable. At the same time, several trees will be preserved, and the site holds special historical significance. Research has shown that there are no valuable cultural-historical objects present, which means construction can begin in January 2027.

Implementation

The preparations focus on carefully surveying the quay, ensuring that trees are preserved, and developing a plan that causes minimal disruption to the surrounding area and traffic.

During implementation, specific adjustments will be necessary for this project—such as taking historical elements and narrow work sections into account—while applying the proven G-Kracht.

Result

The goal is to create a safe, low-maintenance 250-meter-long quay that preserves the character of this historic site and minimizes its impact on the surrounding area. This project once again demonstrates how innovative quay renovation can be carried out in the city center—carefully and efficiently.
